House of Hours is one person selling two objects. This page says plainly what gets collected when you visit or buy, who else sees it, and how to make it go away. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@houseofhours.co and a human will answer.
Your email address, and nothing else. There is one field on that form and that is all of it.
Your name, email address, shipping address and phone number, so we can send you a parcel and tell you where it is. We never see your card details. Payment happens on Stripe's own checkout page, not ours — the card number, expiry and security code go straight to Stripe and are never transmitted to or stored by us.
Standard web request information — the pages you looked at, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device and browser you used, and where you arrived from. Your cart is kept in your own browser's local storage so it survives a refresh; it stays on your device and is cleared once an order completes.
We don't sell your information. We do use a small number of services to run the shop, and each of them handles some of it:
Processes payments and stores our customer and waitlist records. Waitlist signups are kept as customer records in our Stripe account, tagged as waitlist. Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Hosts the site and provides visitor counts. Vercel's analytics is cookieless and does not build a profile of you across other websites. Their policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
We run ads on Instagram, and the Meta Pixel on this site tells us which of them actually worked. It records page views, adding something to the cart, starting checkout, joining the waitlist, and completing a purchase — including the order value.
The pixel also has a feature called automatic advanced matching, which is switched on. Where you have typed information into a form on this site, it is converted into an irreversible hash in your browser before being sent to Meta, and used to match your visit to a Facebook or Instagram account. Meta's settings for this cover email address, phone number, first and last name, city, state, postcode, country, date of birth, gender and an external identifier. In practice this site only ever has your email address to send — the waitlist form has no other fields, and everything you type at checkout is typed on Stripe's page, not ours. The remaining categories are enabled in the settings but have nothing to draw on.
Financial, health and government identification data are never sent. Meta's data policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
The typefaces load from Google's servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google as part of that request.
Your name and address go to whoever carries the parcel. There is no way to post you something without this.
The Meta Pixel sets cookies and is used for advertising measurement and for showing ads to people who have visited this site. You can turn most of this off from Meta's own controls — facebook.com/adpreferences — or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser. Doing so will not stop you from browsing or ordering here.
Your cart lives in local storage on your own device, not on a server, and no cookie is involved.
Joining the waitlist means we will email you once when the next run opens. That is what the form is for and it is the only thing we use it for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and replying with the word "remove" works just as well.
Placing an order means transactional email — a receipt, a shipping confirmation, and a note if a preorder date moves. You cannot unsubscribe from those, because they are the order.
Order records are kept for seven years, because tax law requires it. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them, or until the list has been dormant for two years, whichever comes first.
Wherever you live, and regardless of whether the law where you live requires it of a business this size, you can ask us to:
Tell you what we hold about you. Correct it if it's wrong. Delete it — though we may have to keep order records for the tax period above. Stop sharing it for advertising, which we will do by removing you from any Meta audience built from this site. And take you off the list, immediately and without asking why.
Email hello@houseofhours.co with what you want. We aim to deal with it within a week and will not make you prove anything beyond that you control the email address in question.
This shop is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we'll delete it.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, and the site is served over HTTPS. What we cannot promise is that any system is impossible to breach. If something ever did go wrong with data we hold, we would tell the people affected rather than hope nobody noticed.
If this policy changes materially the date at the top changes with it, and anyone on the waitlist gets told.
